Joint-stock company OLŠANSKÉ PAPÍRNY with its seat in the plant Lukavice by Zábřeh na Moravě belongs among the largest paper-making companies operating on the market of Czech Republic.
The tradition of paper-making industry in northern Moravia dates back to the year 1596, when the existence of paper mill for the production of hand-made paper and board in Velké Losiny is documented.
This is the only manual paper mill in Central Europe, where the paper is being manufactured in original way and this production according to old traditions was also appreciated by general commissioner during the world exhibition EXPO 2000 in Hanover. In 2004, the Ministry of Culture of Czech Republic submitted an application to place the Manual paper mill in Velké Losiny on the UNESCO list of monuments.
The company has undergone a long development and many structural and proprietary changes related also to the expansion of production and many investment projects, both in the sphere of production and also in the field of environmental modernization of technological processes.
Since 2000, Olšanské papírny documents its strong position on the market by regular increase of the production of paper. Nowadays, Olšanské papírny produces, in its three plants and on six paper machines approximately 80 000 tons of graphic, office and wrapping papers in a year.
As to the industrial wrapping, especially of food, Olšanské papírny produces the widest assortment of paper bags (17 design types of bags and more than 900 modifications) in central Europe.
Principal groups of products made by Olšanské papírny include graphic paper, copy and office white and colour paper A3, A4; recycled paper, wrapping papers and bags, printed paper, hand-made paper and board, calendars and gift respectable products made of hand-made paper.
Permanent development and modernization of products include also registered trademarks - PRIMA PRINT, PRIMA COPY, LOSÍN, LUKASTERIK and especially registered industrial design - LUKAFOL bag, which obtained the highest award in the sphere of consumer packings - GOLDEN EMBAX and the award of the world packing association WORLDSTAR AWARD OF PACKAGING.
The products of Olšanské papírny find their use in whole range of sectors and activities. To name a few, it is the field of printing industry, industrial upgrading of paper, state administration, trade, health institutions, mills, bakehouses, offices, schools and so on.
Significant part of the production - approx. 68 % is exported to many European and also overseas countries.
Olšanské papírny has prepared a wide program of co-operation in the field of paper products for processing industry and also for small and middle purchasers.
Organisational structure of Olšanské papírny a.s.
The company consists of four organisational units without legal subjectivity:
- Head office of the company - seat in Lukavice.
- Plant Lukavice - the production of bleached sulphate and sulphite wrapping paper, the production of white and unbleached wrapping paper made of waste paper, the production of paper bags, which can be printed with various colours, and coloured printed wrapping papers.
- Plant Jindřichov - the production of bleached uncoated wood-free printing and xerographic paper, bulky paper, the production of wood-free uncoated bleached paper for exercise books and envelopes.
- Plant Aloisov - the production of EKO paper and board - white, natural and coloured ones, the production of uncoated wood-free and wood-containing paper and board - white and also coloured and bulky ones, the production of coloured xerographic paper.
